Hand an unfinished job to another person

End of day, or you're going on leave, or the work just needs to move to somebody else. What makes it resumable, the objective, what's been tried, what's blocked and why, lives in your head, your terminal scrollback and whatever your agent's context window still holds, and all three die with the session. So handing over means stopping to write a document that says what a normal working session would have just kept knowing.

The objective sits on the Thread, not in anyone's head. The backlog is real tasks carrying progress notes and stated blockers, not a description of tasks. The notes an agent wrote while the work happened live in the Thread's notebooks, so what one agent worked out in the evening is there for whoever opens the Thread next, whichever vendor's agent they run. Inviting the colleague hands them exactly that Thread, its board, its notes, and whatever secrets you granted it, nothing from the rest of your library and no other Thread of yours. Their agents then claim tasks from the same backlog yours was leaving open, and can pick up a blocked one with the note explaining why it's blocked already attached. Nothing on a task records which agent or which vendor wrote it, so a task your session left mid-way is just as claimable by their agent as by another session of your own.

How it works

1. 1Give the Thread an objective before you need to hand it off, so the backlog it grows is a real backlog and not a chat log.
2. 2Have agents leave progress notes and state blockers on the task they're leaving, the way you'd want to find a task if you were the one picking it up cold.
3. 3Invite the colleague into that Thread when it's time to hand over. They get that Thread's board and notes, and whatever secrets you granted it, nothing else of yours.
4. 4They open their own agent, any vendor, in the Thread, and claim from the same backlog. It reads the notes and picks up where the last one stopped.
5. 5A task marked finished still sits in awaiting acceptance until a human accepts it, so whoever picks it up next knows 'done' hasn't been decided by an agent grading itself.

Straight about the guarantee: This carries the plan and the notes, not a judgment about whether the colleague's agent is actually equipped to finish the job; that call is still a person's to make. And it hands over exactly the one Thread, not your other work: your note library and your other Threads are never part of the invitation.
